Melkam-Lib Short-Term Training Center is a locally rooted institution dedicated to advancing the healthcare workforce by preparing individuals to become skilled nursing assistants. We actively collaborate with nursing homes, elderly care centers, homecare providers, and individuals in need of professional caregiving—whether at home or in inpatient settings.

Our core mission is to train and promote highly qualified caregivers who are committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care.

At Melkam-Lib Caregiver Training Center, we provide comprehensive, hands-on training for those aspiring to support the sick and elderly. Our goal is to build a strong, capable community of professional caregivers ready to meet the growing demands of the healthcare field.

We are dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate care for the elderly and individuals in need throughout Ethiopia. Our professionally trained caregivers offer personalized support that respects each person’s unique needs, promoting comfort, dignity, and overall well-being.

Our Services

We provide training to develop essential personal care skills needed to support clients with dignity and competence. This includes assistance with bathing, skincare, hair and oral hygiene, dressing, feeding, mobility, exercise, transfers, positioning, toileting, medication support, and emergency response. Trainees also gain a thorough understanding of various transfer techniques and the proper use of assistive devices, tailored to individual client needs.

What qualifications do our caregivers have?

At Melkam-Lib Caregivers Center, our professional caregivers are thoroughly trained in elderly care, home-based support, and patient assistance, delivering compassionate, high-quality services tailored to each client’s unique needs. Our training program places a strong emphasis on practical, hands-on learning, equipping trainees with the confidence and skills required for real-world caregiving.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants are eligible to take the Certificate of Competency (COC) examination, administered by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) authority, to earn official certification.
